Cameron joined the agency in 2010 and has risen through the ranks to this leadership position as JAA embarks on its next chapter of growth.
JAA has appointed Cameron Cumming as managing director. The appointment marks a defining moment for an agency that has built its reputation on supporting brands with big ambitions, helping them out-think, out-manoeuvre and out-perform competitors with deeper pockets.
Cameron is well placed to drive JAA forward with a specific focus to:
- • Champion brands that grow against the odds.
- In an era of economic pressure and shrinking budgets, Cameron will sharpen JAA’s expertise in helping brands find opportunity where others see adversity, turning constraint into competitive edge.
- • Deliver media that cuts through.
- With attention harder than ever to earn, Cameron will lead the agency’s drive to create media strategies that are smarter, braver and more effective, continuing to deliver work that gets noticed, remembered and acted upon.
- • Lead JAA into a new era of growth.
- Building on a landmark period that included relocating to a bigger and more creative office space in January this year, Cameron will steer JAA’s next phase to deepen client partnerships, attract new talent and cement the position as the independent agency of choice for brands ready to take on the big players.
Cameron Cumming, managing director, JAA said:
“JAA has gone from strength to strength in recent years under the inspired leadership of Richard Temple, Jonathan Newton, Nick Smith, and Elizabeth Emsley. They’ve built on an exceptional heritage laid down over decades by John Ayling, by Rob Stephens, and by the many who have delivered impactful work in the past and especially those who do so now.
The people at JAA are amongst the very best in the industry, both at what they do and more importantly what they’re like to work with. A sentiment echoed by clients, creative agencies and media owners time and time again. I’m proud of the role I’ve played in JAA’s progression thus far and prouder still to take on the responsibility of managing director.”

Richard Temple, CEO, JAA added:
“Cameron’s hard work, commitment to client growth and development of our people make him the stand-out choice to take the agency forward. As a board we are incredibly proud to see home grown talent thriving and we look forward to working alongside Cameron as we head towards our 50th year as a media independent.”
